Yein Lee is featured in ArtAsiaPacific Issue 143

09 May 2025

Vienna-based Korean artist Yein Lee is featured in the 143th issue of ArtAsiaPacific!

Currently showing in ‘Aftershock’, Lee’s acrylic ink and lacquer paintings on galvanised steel plate, Flap 1 (2025) and Flap 2 (2025) — are described in the profile as “visual echoes—ghostly traces of a trembling world…[which] maps not only the body in flux but the tremors of a universe in constant motion.”

Her expansive practice, including sculpture, installation, painting, and performance, depicts the body in fragmented forms and radical transitoriness. By repurposing industrial materials and interweaving elements of technology and physical organisms, Lee’s works investigate the social and ecological collapse, reverberating the voices of the otherness through the bodies in crisis.
